| 08/20/06 | Pete | Steve nice work, and style.
Jimmy's an ass, keep your purist ideas to your self loser. He dosn't even own one lol, that's why his comments are so...crapy lol, keep up the cruzin' see ya on the hwy. peace. |
| 06/18/05 | cornish dragon | Jimmy what a sad life you must
live (if indeed you do have one) This is Steves bus ( who I don't know) and it is lovely in oh so many ways and is so right. Life is about individuality not conformity as soon as your liken this owner to some one who crushed a splitty you have damned all the rights of freedom that go with our society. Please feel free to "restore" a bus to its original and fairly rough condition they came of the production in ;-) but have the good grace to understand that time doesn't stand still if this owner can ( and has) improved his bus to this standard he should be complimented in significant measure. CD U is going to luv my van...Jimmy !!! |
| 06/12/05 | Jimmy | I like the original paint, but if you want to lower a splitty, go buy a rice burner. You've met a purist. Splittys, should be restored to original condition, and thats that. Sorry, but I think you're just as bad as the guy that crushed a 23-window. |
| 05/16/04 | amy | Badass |
| 04/15/04 | Todd | Great look.
I have a 65 bus with drop spindles and a type 3 rear end lowering it 3.5 inches all around. I am running BRMs currently, but I love your rims. I don't think that I am going to make an major changes to this bus, but a future project will be similar to your bus. Like the other comments, I am very impressed with the mix of old school and new influences. I am in a car club that is all sport compacts and my bus sticks out like a sore thumb, but everyone loves it. I think that if you like your bus, forget what anyone else says. To the purists: If you can put it back to original, then what's the fuss? Someone who cuts up a Heb to make a baja bug (true story), now that's something to get upset about. |
| 03/28/04 | Simon | that bus is tight man........love the old mixed w/ the new style u got goin, me and my dad thinkin bout doin the same..... |
| 03/21/04 | dave f | i love your splity its just what i hope to run myself 1 day, my 73westy is at the doctors at the mo having heart surgery. but she will be ready for this years glastonbury festival in the uk. join us it will be a great festi, cheers. Dave |
| 03/12/04 | Cruzin' FyrFyter | I'm in my 40's and we had a '65 when I was a kid just like this. I think the lowering job is excellent! I LOVE the wheels. In the right setting, the racks and ladders are great, too. I think you have great taste. Exactly what I'd love to run if I could, with the possible exception, I'd love to transplant a Nissan Maxima drivetrain into it. Man, coooooold air, fast as hell, I think that would be the way to DIE!!! |
| 02/19/04 | skim GFK | sweet as hell! Love it! |
| 02/09/04 | pedro julio hernadez | the best bus I never see!
great wheels, great paint, one of kind |
| 01/26/04 | Rikki James | Dude, your bus ROCKS! do what you've got to do ;-) |
| 12/16/03 | steve | thanks everyone for the comments on the bus. can't wait until summer rolling with the safari windows open low to the ground will be sweet. i want to organize a cruise in march...if anyone is from washington state and interested....email me |
| 12/16/03 | tuesmuerte@hotmail.com | well done, holding on to the past with a new touch, looks agressive, forget the purists, its your ride and your on the right road. awesome curb appeal |
| 12/16/03 | Ronnie | Perfect! just perfect. How does she drive after all that upgrade? I'm especially thinking of the narrowed beam.
The wheels are wild! Ronnie Denmark |
| 12/15/03 | Que | The Vintage VW community encompasses the Old School and New School. To bash either side is killing the community. I think your bus is a great example of both new and old. Great job Steve. |
| 12/15/03 | Daniel | I think it looks sweet, if I could afford wheels like that I would run them. |
| 12/15/03 | Andrew Strom | That is seriously nice original paint. |
| 12/14/03 | steve | i was trying to keep the vintage empi 5 spoke look while putting on some over sized rims. trying something new while still holding onto that vintage look. you have to try something new sometimes.....i think it looks great |
| 12/14/03 | VolksWoute | Love the bus,hate the wheels! |
| 12/14/03 | wolf | why not just buy a rice burner? |

| 12/26/04 | marcelo lopez | I am from Argentina, he/she wanted to know if this apparatus is good for a Type ll refrigerated by air. And which the price is? |
| 03/13/04 | Todd | I have all the paperwork for this a/c unit scanned. I am going to post all of it today on Vintagebus.com
I am really not sure if this unti was ever made for right hand models. I know that this will not fit a right hand drive because the underdahs component is made just for left hand drive buses. Please let me know if you have any information as to the value of the unit. I am not really looking to sell at this time, but I am curious as to how much it is worth. Thanks, Todd |
| 01/16/04 | jim soulios | Greetings todd, have u found any further info on ac & is it available 4 right hand models ? |

| 02/24/05 | David | That center brake light looks amost like the back-up lights became standard on bay windows but with different numbers on the lense. Last time I saw canter brake lights was on Chrysler products in the forties and on cars made in the last fifteen years. Are the red lenses still made? |
| 11/27/03 | Patrick Hall | I have a 1965 Camper. The previous owner took the pop up and replaced it with some really bad looking tin. Where can I find a pop up? Its the small pop up. 3' by 3'. I am doing a total restoration. |
| 08/05/03 | Greg | I pulled mine off the '55 kombi..... |
| 07/25/03 | Mike | I think the reason they were sought after is because they were not common. It sure isn't because they look good. |

| 07/31/03 | peach | 71 bay, maybe I'll trade it for a single cab... |
| 07/23/03 | peach | It's a '71 Bay with Devon interior... my daily driver, up for sale soon... or I'd swap it for a single cab... |
| 06/05/03 | Andrew Strom | What's with the purple bus on the left side of the second picture? |
