09/14/02 Jules Interesting, never heard of the setup, Lad over here put a hydraulic system on his Type three . Bit suspicious of set up though. He fits stairlifts for the elderly as a living!!

09/13/02   It's similar to a hydrolic set-up, in the fact that it will raise and lower the car by a switch. It uses thick rubber "air-bags" mounted to the 4-corners of the suspension. They're controlled by air pressure that is brought in by a small compressor and stored in a tank. The air is controlled by solinoids with intake/exhaust openings, allowing the bag to fill/deflate. The big advantage of air-bags over hydrolics is the ride. Much smoother and adjustable. They also don't require extra car batteries. Big-rig-trucks have been using them for years to adjust the rear when carrying heavy trailors...
