12/07/02 Dad Gee you must have learned alot from your dad to be able to do this kind of work.
09/02/02 Carl Actually I have heard there is quite good surfing up here,They do alot in Yakutat. The water temp isnt much differant than the east coast, simular to New Hampshire. They actaully have a surf shop there! The guy who owns the bug came up here from Fla.kinda explains the surf board a little better.....
09/02/02 Carl The bug's not mine,so I guess I would prefer to drive the bus!
09/02/02 Julian Much surfing in Alaska? or is that a stupid question
09/02/02 Kral Which do prefer to drive ? The Bus or the vdub ? Must have been tuff to find parts for the bus. And this website is the BEST on the net. Almost like having religion
08/30/02 Carl (Anchorage)It was tough for a while to get parts.I ordered alot of stuff and got raped on shipping, but old VW's seem to be falling into my lap lately.
08/27/02 kral these krauters look good. where in alaska are you ? Tough to get parts ?

Poor old panel
This old panel has been choped and shortened. This was all done before it sat for thirty some years. I feel truly sorry for it.

08/27/02 ED Keep lookin till you find Julian Dalton and ask him. Good luck!
08/27/02 Chris I have been given a 1964 Standard Bus that is in pretty ruff shape. It is fairly rotten along the rockers, the rear corners and the nose but would the rust is restorable. What I am worried about is the roof. A large treet fell ont he ruff and caved the rear passenger side in. It did not break any of the windows and it only caused damage to the roof. I was wondering if anyone has ever restored a bus with similar damage and if so what was the method you used? Thanks.

This is the new engine powering the 200amp alternator on custom stand. The engine uses a 2.1 Liter water boxer crank, and is now 1976cc. It runs a high lift cam, Kadrons, and a full stainless exhaust. It runs a later gearbox, but still the original reduction hubs, gearing is 3500rpm at 65mph which is nice. My van weighs over 2 tonnes with all the stereo (1/3 tonne batteries...) Even with all this weight, it still dose the 1/4 mile in 23 seconds :-)))
