VintageBus.com Image Gallery - Rare Buses and Parts

Pix of rare cars, parts, and accessories. I tend to be fairly conservative as to what is considered "rare," as the term is very overused.

Hello, this is my '74 T2b Grawomobile. It is a camperversion made by a German manufacturer. The firm is called 'GRAW'. It is the same firm that made the Arcomobile T1's. The engine has been replaced by an 2.0l, twin carb. It's, except the engine, 100% original.

12/18/02 Pete Sorry my english, but I try to tell something. Here in Finland was factory whits made pick up cars of those.
12/18/02   The link don't work
12/17/02 Sean SANO!!!
12/14/02 wolfgang As far as I know, there were bulit VW's with a motor in the front in turkey (the land, not the bird) or greece.

There is a cool website of michael knappmann with a picture of this bus:

http://cologne.cyberlab.de/michaelk/vw_bus_d/frontmot.htm
12/14/02 Mike But CKD's were like regular buses with the motor being in the rear. And no spare stored under the frame. What ever it is it sure isnt anything vintage.
12/14/02 Thom I think that's the frame for one of those buses that were sold "CKD" - completely knocked down - to Southern Hemisphere desinations.
12/14/02 lind is that a mexican vw factory built truck?

The pride of San Diego County. The "Roadster" took first place in the Barndoor Convertible Class and Josh's "El Ghiablo" took first in the "Bus with a Heavy Ghia Influence" Class. Enjoy your trophies gentlemen and tell those tourists to stop snapping photos!

Don't worry, this Bus started as a $7.31 investment. We traded a six pack of shitty beer for it and we made our vision a reality.

01/11/03 Conrad I almost did this to my bus when I was 16 - and glad I didn't. Although I would have been the most popular guy at school, I would have regretted it. BUT if I had a tree fall on my crew cab, I'd probably take care of it this way.
01/11/03 Conrad Hey, can you imagine when I was 16 I thought about doing this to my bus. Though I would have been the most popular guy in high school - I'm glad I didn't. But maybe this is the solution to that crew cab that had the tree fall on it.
01/09/03   I don't know what this thing was? It looks like it was a barndoor, but it doesn't have the 8 vents like a barndoor should. It is probably hacked together from many busses. If I owned it I wouldn't park it anywhere, It might get accidentaly towed to the wreckers
01/08/03 VanBondo Ah yeah, I had a gray one! Sa-weet =)
12/26/02   You should be destroyed.

Used to deploy Mirage jet fighters and F-111 to battle on excersise and then control them on their return. Originaly had a trailer with an airconditioner and generator on it. The air was pumped through the duct at the back and exited through punker leouvres on the inside. It was manned by two controllers. I Recently restored it in Darwin,Northern Territory,Australia.
