Land Mine Resiting Vehcile, built on VW Brazil Kombi running gear

Initial picture of a Land Mine resisting Vehcile built on VW Brazil Kombi running gear after its arrival at the Museum in Johannesburg, South Africa from Zimbabwe. Built in Zimbabwe during the period 1976 to 1979 for the civilian sector in response to an escilating mine problem, the vehicle was powered by the standard 1600cc 4 cyl type 1 Air cooled motor and standard gearbox, but had 'low range' gears fitted into the Reduction Boxes at the rear wheels. A large add-on Oil cooler was added to assist the engine. Seats 6, 5 passengers and a driver. Only 5 are known to have survived, this being 1 of the 2 that have survived with wheels / axles. Volunteer restoration of the vehcile has begun but are in desperate need of a source of orginal VW Brazil parts, in particular a complete Gearbox (with flexable drive shafts) and Engine authentic for the period, the originals having been removed. (I have an Engine number if necessary). Original VW body was the Bay Window type. Would also like to correspond with any Vintage Bus enthusiasts so as to learn more detail about the original model Kombi on which the Leo is based. Many thanks. Hi man,you are looking my new and first bus,that i call "Flowswagen".I�m from Spain in Zamora(you must look on the spanish map,above salamanca).Is a bus of 1971,the american model,has 9 sites and the think that you see on top is the evaporator of air conditioning(is instaled at the time of the bus 1971).the first owner was the goberment of 1971,and now I�m the third owner... I love it!!!

05/21/08	Tim Goodrich	I am sad to inform all of you that my brother Paul Goodrich and his wife Laurie Ann Goodrich were killed in a car accident on May 11, 2008. He was an avid bus collector and VW afficianado, all you would have to do is ask him and he would confirm this. He will be missed but please keep him in your hearts and keep his spirit among us all. I am sure you will remember him when you see one of his many buses show up at a VW show. Thanks and from my brother, Mahalo
05/12/08	Bill Flynn	Sad and tragic news. Paul and wife Laurie were killed 5/11/08 in an accident in Kauai. Not many details yet, but we lost a great friend.

SO44 During and After stipping and paint.

My SO44 during and after being stripped down and painted with 6 coats of Sikkens yacht paint (with a brush and roller). It has lived outside all year round in Canada for the last 12 years. I put 80k miles on it as a daily driver but now we just use it for camping ( only a couple of '000 miles per year now). Interior is complete and in good condition except the small table is missing.

I went to the US with two of my buddies for all the VW-shows at the classic weekend. We had a BLAST! We have a friend in LA and thanks to him we got the full-tour. All the big shops, BBQ partys, Drives to the shows in split bugs and buses and so on... Check my website for more! www.keverpech.nl

Im interested in buying this combi and wondered what you guys think of this. It's a 1966 VW split screen kombi,roadster,ie roof cut off,done profesionaly,still has rear benches fitted. Its going for R25000-00 (+- $3800-00).

68 Westfalia Wide Wood bed in very good condition.

68 Westfalia Wide Wood bed singel cab in very good condition. Even the original radio still works. some rust but no danger. The wooden bed is not too bad either, some wood is rutten but still rocks!
