Yes, it's in December, day 30 of year 2003, at 17.00H, in river Douro, north Portugal, home of the Oporto Wine, and the weather was cold and bright. Nice weather to cool your engine, and good sightseeing in a 805 km in one day trip. Lot's of driving time at 80 km/h. Yes, me and my bus "Gilda", with nice mileage, about 9,85 liters to each 100 km. (Try to convert this to mpg, EUA people!)

By locking the container we know this is it. The end of the journey, the end of the expedition. Saying goodbye to hippie feels weird and strange. Good thing is that we know hippie is in good hands. It also means that this is our last diary entry. We have enjoyed writing about our adventures and will now focuss on writing a book about our experiences before and during this expedition. Its been an amazing journey which took us through 10 countries. We visited 10 SOS-villages and projects and are very much impressed by what we have seen. Este lugar es increible, hay dos lagunas en lo que era el crater de este volcan. Cuentan los historiadores que ah realizaban sacrificios humanos a los dioses aztecas y que en el fondo hay piezas, como joyas prehispanicas y utensilios varios.

Under supervision of the other customers we eat our meal as good as nice as we can. But the chinese here have another way of eating. Smikkel smikkel slurp slurp burp. And believe us they burp out loud. Even the waiters burp standing at your table! Every tablemanner we have learned doesnt count here. We have difficulties not to laugh.
