12/11/04 Becca I have absolutely fallen in love with your pink combi bus...it's my dream car! I've seen the pics of u restoring it, I was just wondering how much money did it cost in the end? If I were to pay someone to do up a combi bus 4 myself, how much do u think it could come to? Is that even possible? By the way I'm in Australia.

Cars featured are those of Deon de Waal (blue kombi), Erus Meyer (Blue Westy and Grey Panel), Jean Viljoen (maroon Fleetline), Gareth vd Weide (Yellow Fleetline), Paul Cochrane (Green Kombi camper), Janna Noorwyk (lime Fleetline) Archie van Aardt (grey Kombi), Hennie Binneman (crew cab), Henry du Plessis (light green kombi) and Christo Wesraad (navy Fleetline Panel). The last picture is of my Fleetline on a beach on False Bay - yes, a quad bike does fit inside if you remove the two cargo doors.

CAL RESTO SHOP (UNNAMED) CONTINUES TO BUY TYPE 2'S OFF EBAY, AND SCAVENGES NOS BUS PARTS, WE IN THE U.S. WILL BE PAYING THROUGH THE NOSE TO RESTORE OUR OWN "HOME MODELS". IF YOU "SQUINT REAL HARD, I GUESS A VW BUS LOOKS LIKE A TOYOTA PREVIA---YES, THAT MUST BE THE THE REASON THE INTEREST IS SO HIGH!

This bus belonged to a fella down our street. We used to it everyday, but one day the bus was gone, the idiot sold it. Dunno much he asked for it, we were broken at the time. Goodbye bus!

07/23/05 ben It is a type II so it is at least a 1968 and its not above a 74 vuz the taillight doesnt have the amber blinker on it, try looking up the VIN should be somewhere on this beautiful van

'61 Kombi in The Philippines. Very rare and hard to find these splitty's here in the Philippine Island. I was very lucky to find this one , the same year i came home for vacation and saw this one at a local beach suprisingly with a for sale sign on it !

Here is a 1975 Fleetline from the South African film "Stander", about the Stander gang, notorious bank robbers in the 1980s. Gang leader Andre Stander came to a wet and sticky end at the hands of police in Florida USA. This was a street scene from Johannesburg, 1976.

04/05/04 fig Porno would have been better for him. If I remember correctly Stander fled SA to the US. He tried to shoot it out with cops in Florida and took several hits from a shotgun.
