    I HAVE WHAT I HAVE BEEN TOLD IS A 1956 PLUMBERS BUS OR TRUCK. I AM NOT SURE WHAT IT IS CALLED, BUT I T HAS A HALF CAB AND FOLD DOWN SIDES, WITH CARGO COMPARTMENTS UNDERNEATH, FLAT BED THAT GOES UP TO TH E FRONT OF THE TRUCK ON THE RIGHT SIDE. MY GRANDFATHER PURCHASED IT SOMETIME AROUND 1960 TO 1965 I B ELIEVE. I HAVE HAD A LOT OF PEOPLE INTERESTED IN PURCHASING IT FROM ME BUT HAVE NO IDEA OF WHAT IT M IGHT BE WORTH. I BELIEVE THE BODY TO BE IN GOOD CONDITION, NO BIG DENTS OR DINGS. IT IS THE ORIGINAL COLOR I THINK (PALE GREENISH BLUE) THAT IS OF COURSE OXIDIZED. THE ONLY THING THAT I KNOW FOR SURE THAT IS MISSING IS THE VW EMBLEM THAT IS ON THE VERY FRONT OF THE TRUCK.(SOME ROTTEN KID RAN OFF WITH IT.) TO MY KNOWLEDGE THE MOTOR IS MOST LIKELY THE ORIGINAL ONE AND NOT MUCH IF ANY THING WAS EVER CHANGED FR OM THE WAY IT WAS FIRST PURCHASED. YOUR HELP AND HONEST INPUT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.     Here is a picture of my 1955 Single Cab at the German Parade in downtown Chicago. Guenther and Max from the Chicago Brauhaus rode on top and played music. We even had our own Maibaum (maypole) on board. We were a real crowd-pleaser and all the bunting covers up the rust nicely.

    The front end of my '55 single cab seemed to be sagging, so I figured I'd look into it while I was changing the front brake lines and misc other long-overdue maintenance. Here's what I found: one of the springs sticking *out* of the trailing arm, meaning it was broken. (see the next picture for a shot of the spring leaves)
