This is my 1958 van that has been a long slow process, over 3 years. I have had 2 children since owning her. I could decide on want colour so I covered the van in Black vinyl(ie big sticker) you cant tell, it took me and a friend 10 days to cover the whole van in vinyl. We did whole panels so you cant tell that its not a paint job. Cost AU$150. I will paint it when I have saved $5000 for the paint and panel job.

06/26/03 Kathie 'Mountain Gurl' Hawkins Hey, have you ever been to a Rainbow Gathering? The Rainbow Family Of Living Light Has a national gathering (camp out)in a different national forest every 4th of July. Its a Hippy convention. Anyway, I was to the one in Minnesota a numbeer of years ago & saw some interesting busses.

Spent some time hand painting this in Photoshop...the original paint was horrible to work with and tried several different ways to clean it up...once I got the paint right, I added custom wheels from a Volvo S-70 and lowered the bus a bit...I think it turned out nice!

My first VW bus took possesion of me on May 9th, 2003. These are pictures I took the other night while staying up until 5 in the morning rebuilding the front wheel cylinders and pulling the interior out of the front of it in preparation for fixing the rust. Wish me luck. This is my first restore. I am so excited.

Here are some pics I took of VWs at Pomona during my spring break 2003. It was a shock to system coming from Western New York, where you see maybe 5 buses a year, to the Pomona swap meet. It was so amazing. You people don't know how lucky you are.

Here are some pics from my spring break 2003 in California. These were taken on my way from San Fran. to L.A. along old route 1. It was such a beatiful drive. I wish I had brought my bus. Check out the old Pontiac hood ornament mounted on the roof of the first bus. I bet it lights up just like the Pontiacs used too. It was so crazy going from my house in Western New York, where you see maybe 5 buses a year, to California where you can see a dozen a day.
