My daughter saw this Westi on her way to school one morning, she was so excited to tell me about it, knowing that I love the Vintage Beetles and Bus. I picked her up this afternoon and asked her to show me where it was, I was very enthusiastic about it, I had great ideas on my mind on how to build the old westi and bring it back to life, since she described it to have the old split window. I was driving very slow so as not to miss the location to where she saw it. When i saw it from afar it was wasn't as bad, I stepped down on my car to have a closer look. I froze the moment i saw it, there infront of me was this rundown old canary yellow vintage bus, I couldn't help but felt sorry for this Westi, I was angry to myself to have not seen it years before when it was up and running, coz i use to ride down this road on my bike. It was really a heartbreaker. How could someone be that insensitive and leave it there to rot? I only took one quick shot of the now hopeless Westi for my heart was feeling a lot of loss... Is there any way i can bring this back to life? I guess only a miracle can help me now... :( By the way, I'm from off-shore Manila...

De bus van Marco Verschelling, voor de fatale aanrijding. Rotterdam, 25 maart 2001. Een zwarte dag. De laatste dag van het zwart met vlammen busje. Rechts net voor het achterwiel geramd, gekanteld, tegen een paal van de trambovenleiding geklapt met de achterkant van het dak, terug de weg op gestuiterd en op de wielen neer gekomen. Gelukkig had de bestuurder alleen een blauw oog en een schram op zijn been door de huissleutels in zijn broekzak. Het dak is in elkaar gefrommeld door de paal van de trambovenleiding. Dat hij hier zonder kleerscheuren uit is gekomen verbaasde de politie en het ambulancepersoneel. Onze oude bussen zijn best stevig..

One doesn't generally stop for a person ahead making a right turn...except that the person in front of me this time was swinging wide for a U-turn! Our poor '66 Westy smashed into the S*b@r* and then off the left embankment (10ft) and ended up on her side! She will ride again, I swear!

Here is the flipseat before we backed it out into the driveway. Besides the Dr Pepper bottles, inside we found one roofrack clamp, and the bag of tent stakes. But we never got the rack nor the tent, shame.

Flip hatch westy that was for sale here in Sacramento. Stripped of any interior, was supposed to have the flip seat interior, did have weld in brackets for safaris left in it. Wheel wells cut as well as the decklid had a big hole cut in it. Was for sale for about 400.00

I have a '66 poptop camper for sale. I am fromWashington State and I am selling it for $2000 obo. I have the canvas awning that comes off of the side and a set of the original wheels. It is a project, but a very do-able project. Please keep in mind that these pics aren't the best and that I didn't do these destructive mods! I just haven't had the chance to do anything with the thing and I've had it for over three years now. To go into a little bit of detail, it does need the typical rust maintenence pieces but not that badly. You could easily use this thing as a daily driver. I will be taking some more in depth photos soon! Here are the ones I have at the moment!!
